A Socially Charged Instagram Photo Competition

Working in conjunction with GWR’s media agency ‘MEC’ we created a photo competition utilising the Instagram API.  The campaign site invited users to submit their Instagram photos into the competition simply by assigning them with the #capturethewest hashtag.

The competition was promoted socially and in stations across the GWR network and allowed the brand to connect with customers whilst on the move. The competition received thousands entries, all moderated via an easy to use CMS, four lucky winners were picked by the judge panel each week who each won 1st class rail tickets.
